Software Engineer

Akkodis is recruiting for a Software Development Engineer for an aerospace manufacturer supporting the Grand Rapids, MI area. This is an fully remote contract position with a pay range of $60 to $85 an hour depending on experience, education and location?Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain software solutions using Python and C#.Apply object-oriented programming principles to design and implement robust applications.Utilize GitHub for version control and collaborate on code reviews.Write and maintain requirements and test procedures for software components.Participate in Agile sprints and manage tasks through Rally.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration and compliance with program standards.Support occasional on-site activities, including integration and customer meetings.Required QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional software development experience.Technical Skills:Proficiency in Python and C#.Strong understanding of object-oriented programming.Experience with GitHub, Visual Studio, and VS Code.Additional Skills:Ability to write requirements and create test procedures.Familiarity with Agile methodologies and sprint planning.Preferred QualificationsExperience in aerospace or automotive industries (or adjacent fields).Knowledge of Cameo and SmartBear tools.Exposure to integration with hardware systems.Work LocationRemote-first with occasional on-site visits as needed.Candidates should be located in Eastern or Central time zones for team alignment.Other RequirementsU.S. Citizenship required for military program support.No security clearance required.Tools & TechnologiesGitHub, Visual Studio, VS CodeRally for task managementRemarks (internal tool for requirements)If interested, forward resume to tina.johnsonkelley@ akkodisgroup.com Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledMilitary connected talent encouraged to applyBenefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
