Description:Job SummaryThis role drives key quality initiatives, collaborating with functional leadership, engineering, program management and manufacturing. Additionally, the individual will maintain enterprise procedures, engage in the design process, create training plans and process monitoring documents, and coach others on processes and procedures. Lead and engage in continuous improvement activities. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of quality systems and processes within an opto-mechanical environment.Make sure to apply quickly in order to maximise your chances of being considered for an interview Read the complete job description below.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAbility to work independently, adapt to change, be open to new ideas, take on new responsibilities, handle pressure, and adjust plans and priorities to meet changing schedule needsIndependently manage quality projects, including coordination with cross functional team members, to ensure timely project completionMaintain, train and coach others on quality processes and proceduresBe the subject matter expert for Quality related concerns on the production floor.Champion, lead, and support the execution of strategic initiatives and continuous improvement activitiesProvide guidance and strategic planning for quality improvement projectsMonitor adherence to plans and schedules, mitigate risks, and achieve set milestonesReport to leadership on business performance, including action plans to improve business execution and the status of strategic initiativesDevelop and monitor process quality metrics/KPIs for improvement opportunities.Present quality metrics, providing assessments and actions to drive improvementStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesProvide guidance for classifying and final determination of nonconformances.Investigate and lead root cause analysis for nonconformances.Issue corrective actions as necessaryOther duties as assigned,REQUIRED CAPABILITIESU.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirementsExcellent organizational and time management skillsDetailed understanding of DoD industry quality processes including Nonconforming Material Control, Root Cause and Corrective Action, First Article Inspection, Drawing/Planning Review and Approval, Design Review and Approval, Classification of Hardware Characteristics, Purchase Order Quality flow downs, etc.Relevant experience supporting the production of high-complexity opto-mechanical productsExperience with AS9100, ISO9001, or other quality management systemsApplication of Lean/Six Sigma or other structured continuous improvement processes Knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings and specificationsExperience in investigating technical issues and nonconformance’s to determine root causes and implement effective corrective actionsProcess & Design Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (PFMEA/DFMEA) experienceProficient in MS Office and business analytics software such as Qlik, Power BI, etc.Good written and verbal communication skills to allow effective communication with both technical and non-technical teamsAbility to work additional hours, evenings and / or weekends, to meet customer commitmentsEDUCATION/ EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree and minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience.In lieu of degree, minimum 10 years of experience with increasing levels of responsibility, including experience successfully managing various projects. 6+ years' experience in a government contracting/manufacturing environment. 6+ years' experience in a quality role in an electro-optical manufacturing environmentNothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. xaygatp This job description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
