The Buyer will work directly with engineering, production, and program teams to ensure materials are sourced quickly, cost-effectively, and in alignment with program schedules. This is a hands-on, program-driven procurement role, not a passive purchasing position. Key responsibilities -Procure aircraft components including:Avionics systemsElectrical/mechanical partsStructural materials (sheet metal, brackets, etc.)-Utilize Deltek CostPoint (REQUIRED) for:Purchase order creationTracking procurement statusManaging requisitions and approvalsReview and act on:MRP requirementsBills of Material (BOMs)Engineering requests-Source and evaluate vendors; obtain quotes and negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms-Issue and manage purchase orders (POs) through full lifecycle-Track and expedite critical parts, including AOG / urgent program needs-Coordinate closely with:Engineering (technical requirements)Production / Maintenance (build schedules)Program Management (cost & timelines)-Ensure compliance with:FAR / DFARS / ITAR procurement requirementsMaintain supplier performance metrics and resolve delivery or quality issuesSupport audits and ensure proper documentation within CostPointRequired skills and knowledge-3–7+ years of purchasing / buyer experience-Deltek CostPoint experience (MUST HAVE)Aviation or aerospace experience:Aircraft parts procurementMRO, modification, or integration environment preferredExperience working in a DoD or government contracting environment-Strong understanding of:Procurement lifecycleVendor negotiationLead time management-Ability to read and interpret:Engineering drawingsBOMs / material requirementsAbility to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentPreferred Qualifications-Experience supporting:ISR platforms (King Air, special mission aircraft, etc.)Aircraft modification or integration programs-Familiarity with:FAA Part 43 / 145 environmentsAdditional ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
