CAMP COUNSELOR

JOB SUMMARY This is a seasonal position. Supervises and implements the day camp program for children 5 - 15 years old.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSAssist in the implementation of day camp activities throughout the duration of the day camp program including arts & crafts, inside & outside games, field trips and any other activities related to day campAssume other responsibilities within the scope of the position as assigned by the Camp Coordinator/Program CoordinatorAdhere to all housekeeping and safety standards and see that these standards are not violated by participantsMake innovative suggestions for programs, problems and inefficienciesHandle complaints from youth, parents and the publicEncourage/enforce proper conduct of participantsMINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSMust be 16 years old at the beginning of the season (Memorial Day).KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESAbility to work with children of all agesAbility to work effectively with staff, volunteers, and the publicAbility to have neat appearanceWillingness to relate to children of all ages on their level in a positive mannerWillingness to take directors from supervisorCERTIFICATION, LICENSE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSPosition requires certification in CPR, and First Aid (city sponsored.) A valid Georgia Driver's License is preferred.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe work is medium and requires crouching, hearing, lifting, speaking, talking, visual acuity andwalking.WORK ENVIRONMENT
