SummaryThe Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products meet specified quality standards and align with both customer requirements and PCC capabilities. This role involves planning, auditing, and managing non-conformance processes, as well as collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to maintain product quality and optimize processes. The Quality Engineer also plays a key role in cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.Essential FunctionsConduct part-specific quality planning for new parts following the Quality Control Manual (QCM). Develop work instructions based on customer specifications to ensure compliance with quality standards. Approve part routers in accordance with PCC procedures and customer specifications. Review and align customer specifications with PCC capabilities, negotiating adjustments when necessary. Evaluate and process all non-conforming material using the Report of Non-Conformance (RNC) system. Submit non-conformance reports to customers and negotiate appropriate dispositions. Initiate corrective action requests (RCAs) from internal and external customers to resolve quality issues. Review returned goods (RGs) to determine if returns are valid or non-valid. Conduct external audits of PCC suppliers to ensure adherence to quality standards. Perform internal audits of PCC processes and the quality system for continuous improvement. Act as an authorized Quality Representative to release products for shipment to customers. May supervise other engineers or technicians on assigned projects. Identify and address safety considerations relevant to quality engineering tasks. Execute annual cost savings projects totaling at least three times the employee’s salary. QualificationsRequired Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Quality, Mechanical, or related field). 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing quality, or a related field. Required Skills & Abilities Knowledge of quality systems, non-conformance processes, and root cause analysis. Experience in customer negotiation, quality audits, and developing work instructions. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
