DescriptionTitle: Custodian/GroundsReports to: Area DirectorJob Hours: 15-25 hours per week/part-time (early morning or evening)Locations: Berlin and/or RiponHourly Rate: $14.00-$20.00Position ResponsibilitiesUnder limited supervision, the custodian will perform a variety of tasks in the maintenance and cleaning of Boys & Girls Club of the Tri-County Area’s facility & grounds. The custodian will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of the facility and grounds and will report any malfunctions and/or safety concerns to the appropriate Area Director. The ideal candidate will be reliable, efficient, possess a strong sense of pride in their work, and have experience managing inventory and supply.General Expectations Including, But Not Limited To The FollowingRestroomsScrub toilets/ urinals, cleaning all ceramic surfaces, pumping hardware and toilet seatsScrub/clean all sinks, mirrors and wallsRestock soap, paper towel, and toilet paper dispensersMop floorsWipe down restroom doors on both sidesWet mop with a proper disinfectant the entire shower, and adjoining surfacesVisually inspect all lighting, plumping, and other fixtures to make sure that the area is in safe operating conditionHallwaysWipe down all walls containing fingerprints, etc.Sweep and wet mop floors Empty all wastebasketsClean and sanitize drinking fountainsWipe down all adjoining doors and hardware fixturesClean all glass with appropriate glass cleanerSanitize surfaces Visually inspect all light fixtures, door locks, etc. for damage or malfunction Program SpacesSanitize tabletops, counters, and other surfaces, etc.Sanitize backs of chairs Clean glass windows and doorsEmpty waste baskets and clean interior/exterior of baskets as neededSweep and wet mop or vacuum floorsRemove handprints from walls and windowsVisually inspect all light and door fixtures and report any malfunctionsDust/wipe down all tables and equipmentIf applicable, lock the door as you exit from the roomOfficesDust file cabinets and other surfaces as neededWipe down desk tops Empty waste basketsVacuum/ wet mopWipe down all doors and hardwareClean all glass and windowsGrounds and Lawn CareMow, trim & edge lawnPlant, water, and maintain shrubs and treesRemove weeds and apply mulch or fertilizer as neededSnow removal (shoveling, plowing, salting walkways)Leaf removal and fall cleanupPick up trash and debris from grounds, parking lots, and walkwaysOperate lawn equipmentRequirementsQualifications:High School Diploma or GEDBasic knowledge of lawn care and groundskeepingExperience working with childrenGood communication skills both verbal and writtenCertified in CPR/First Aid (will train)Valid driver’s license and good driving recordPass Pre-Employment Drug TestPhysical And Mental RequirementsThere is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, prolonged standing or walking lift heavy objects, and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.
