Senior Engineer - Underground Electric Transmission
Position OverviewPower your future with Qualus in our Engineering Department as a Senior Engineer of Underground Electric Transmission. Your role will be responsible for implementing best design practices, identifying relevant trainings, coordinating project workflows, supporting business development opportunities and maintaining good relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Assignments will include providing technical guidance to the underground electric distribution design team and supporting established organization objectives.ResponsibilitiesProvide QA/QC execution and trackingSupports development of design & engineering best practice methods and adherence tracking, specific to clients servedUnderstand and implement client and industry standardsMaintain knowledge of developments in industry codes and regulationsMaintain existing client relationships and seek new opportunities in existing contractsSupport organizational growth objectivesSupport management of project scopes, budgets, and schedulesSupport proposal writing and/or coordinationSupport invoicing review and obtaining appropriate approvalsSupport project execution within terms and conditions of contractEnsure continuous improvement in process and cost-efficiencyAbility to analyze problems and develop effective solutions at both strategic and functional levelsWork independently with minimal direction as a highly motivated self-starterQualificationsIdeal candidates will possess a strong understanding of electric design principles demonstrate the ability to apply that knowledge and experience to all aspects of operations.Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited school in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field5-10+ years of electric transmission and distribution engineering and design experience for public utilitiesKnowledge of engineering and design for service line, including Pull Planner, Voltage Drop & Flicker, O-CALC, Autodesk software suite, Power Line Systems software suiteDeep understanding of electric distribution material design, permitting requirements and calculationsAbility to interpret construction documents to compile relevant information for distribution designsKnowledge of other applicable design softwareKnowledge of design principles and practices, including computer applicationsKnowledge of field techniques for constructionKnowledge of safe working practicesKnowledge of project management practicesExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAction-mindset: Ability to move from thinking about something to doing itStrong team player: Accomplish tasks by working with others and recognizing how decisions may impact the team and have a willingness to seek input from othersTime Management: Ability to successfully plan and accomplish tasks within an established timelineComputer proficiency in operating a personal computer and standard business office applications including Microsoft Office and other related applicationsProfessional Engineering (PE) License or the ability to obtain licenseMust possess a valid driver's license#LI-JT1Benefits & CompensationQualus benefits offered include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short and Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays, for those who qualify.The expected compensation range for this position is based upon several factors, including but not limited to education, qualifications, prior relevant work experience and work location.Company OverviewQualus is a leading pure-play power solutions firm and innovator at the forefront of power infrastructure transformation, with differentiated capabilities across grid modernization, resiliency, security, and sustainability.
