General Manager
Overview:
As the General Manager of The Webster, you will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring the smooth execution of concerts and events. This role requires exceptional leadership, strong organizational skills, and a passion for live music and hospitality. The General Manager is responsible for maintaining operational excellence, delivering outstanding guest experiences, and driving the venue’s overall success.
People Management & Development
Manage and oversee staff schedules to ensure proper coverage for all events and operational needs.
Support HR and Finance department to recruit, onboard, background-check, hire, and train staff across all departments.
Provide consistent leadership, coaching, performance evaluations, and professional development for all team members.
Address misconduct and policy violations promptly, consistently, and in accordance with company procedures, including conducting investigations and documenting findings.
Follow all company protocols related to disciplinary actions and terminations, including advance consultation with HR and Senior Management, and ensure all management staff uphold these standards in a professional, objective, and respectful manner.
Liquor, Bar & Concessions Management
Oversee all liquor, bar, and concessions inventory, including ordering, stock control, pricing awareness, and vendor relationships.
Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local laws related to alcohol service and responsible beverage practices.
Monitor inventory levels and waste to support profitability and operational efficiency.
Event Settlement and Financial Reports
Oversee the completion of all event settlements and financial reports, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to internal financial protocols.
Collaborate with the Finance team to reconcile settlements, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate event-level financial records.
Cash Handling & Bank Bag Management
Manage the distribution and collection of bank bags for box office, bar, and cashier staff.
Ensure proper cash-handling procedures are followed at all times.
Maintain accurate records of cash transactions and oversee deposits as required.
Record Keeping & File Management
Maintain organized and accurate records of all event paperwork, settlement documents, vendor invoices, and contracts.
Ensure compliance with document retention policies and assist with audits or internal reviews when necessary.
Payroll Administration
Ensure accurate and timely processing of routine payroll through QuickBooks.
Coordinate with HR and Finance department to maintain employee records and process payroll-related documentation, adjustments, and approvals as needed.
Facility Maintenance & Upkeep
Oversee the general condition, cleanliness, and functionality of the facility through regular inspections.
Coordinate with contractors and service providers for repairs, preventative maintenance, and equipment upkeep.
Proactively identify and address facility issues to maintain safety, compliance, and presentation standards.
Emergency Response & Incident Management
Serve as the primary on-site contact for emergency situations.
Coordinate with emergency services when necessary and ensure proper incident reporting and follow-up.
Maintain the safety and well-being of patrons, artists, and staff at all times.
Patron Relations & Guest Experience
Act as the primary point of contact for patron concerns, complaints, and inquiries.
Resolve issues professionally while maintaining the venue’s service standards and brand reputation.
Monitor and respond to guest feedback to continuously improve the customer experience.
Credentials & Access Management
Manage and maintain event credential sheets, ensuring accuracy and proper distribution to authorized personnel only.
Administrative & Communication Responsibilities
Respond promptly and professionally to customer reviews across Google, Yelp, Facebook, and other online platforms.
Maintain timely communication by responding to emails, voicemails, and calls from staff, management, and home office personnel.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed to support the overall success of the venue and organization.
