Production Operations Manager
Position OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on Production Operations Manager to oversee daily production floor operations and ensure projects move efficiently through the manufacturing and fabrication process. This individual will serve as the operational hub between departments, monitoring workflow, identifying bottlenecks, forecasting labor needs, and ensuring deadlines are met.This role is highly visible and requires someone who enjoys being on the production floor, communicating with teams, solving problems in real time, and keeping leadership informed of risks, delays, and resource needs before they impact delivery schedules.The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented leader with experience in manufacturing, fabrication, production, warehouse operations, construction operations, plant management, cabinet shops, or similar production-driven environments.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily production floor operations and monitor project progress from start to completion.Track production schedules, labor allocation, and departmental workflow to ensure deadlines are achieved.Identify bottlenecks, delays, resource shortages, and production risks before they impact delivery.Coordinate communication between departments including fabrication, paint, assembly, shipping, and project teams.Forecast labor requirements and staffing needs based on upcoming production demands.Hold departments accountable for production schedules, commitments, and deliverables.Provide leadership with clear updates regarding production status, labor needs, and operational challenges.Monitor workflow metrics and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.Assist with production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a culture of accountability and teamwork.Qualifications5+ years of experience in production, manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse operations, construction operations, or similar environments.Proven ability to manage production schedules, deadlines, and multiple priorities simultaneously.Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Experience forecasting labor needs and managing workflow across multiple departments.Ability to identify issues early and proactively develop solutions.Comfortable working on the production floor and interacting with employees at all levels.Experience with production scheduling software, Gantt charts, ERP systems, or manufacturing planning tools is a plus.Degree preferred but not required; practical leadership and operations experience are valued most.Ideal BackgroundsManufacturing OperationsProduction ManagementFabrication ShopsCabinet & Millwork OperationsConstruction OperationsWarehouse & Distribution OperationsIndustrial ProductionPlant OperationsCustom Manufacturing
