We are advancing a diverse pipeline and delivery platform in the pursuit of uniting experts in science, technology, disease management, and care.Patient-focused and founded by those directly impacted by Duchenne, Solid’s mission is to improve the daily lives of patients living with devastating rare diseases.We are seeking a skilled and motivated associate scientist to join the Molecular Therapeutics team to purify AAV libraries and to define the mechanism of transduction of selected capsids. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in protein science including protein binding assays, protein structure, and cell biology.This role will be based in Solid’s Corporate Headquarters located in Hood Park in Charlestown, MA and is a primarily onsite position.Key Position ResponsibilitiesOptimize methods for production and isolation of AAV capsid libraries using automated liquid handlers such as TecanIn vitro AAV transduction experiments in normal and CRISPr KO cellsProtein binding and inhibition experimentsContribute to modelling of protein structuresCollaborate within the molecular therapeutics team and across the R&D organization including computational biologists, analytical development, and process developmentCommunicate findings and insights to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and visualizations.Experience RequirementsBachelor of Science with 3-5 years of industry experience, or MS with 0-3+ years of experience in protein science researchExperience with AAV and/or antibody production and drug developmentStrong technical skills in protein biochemistry and cell biology to define the mechanism of AAV transductionProficiency in computing include Geneious, BLAST, Ensembl, NCBI, Uniprot, USCS, GTEx, Microsoft, PRISM statistics programStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.Excellent communication and presentation skills.CompensationThe base compensation range for this role is: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00Base salary offered is determined through an internal analysis utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.Regular employees are eligible to receive both short-term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward individual performance and align incentives to Solid’s long term company performance.Benefits And Solid AdvantagesAt Solid Biosciences we offer a highly competitive total rewards and benefits package, intended to support all aspects of our employees’ lives and well-being.
