Position Overview
Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Lead will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of day-to-day operations including resolution of product, personnel, and process issues. The Lead person provides direction and support for operators. They function as the primary back-up for the Supervisor. Since Leads have a high contact with operators, it is expected that they are role models of the companies’ core values – specifically teamwork, integrity, and innovation. The Lead is responsible for assisting in the driving of all department operations in a manner that meets company standards for safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
Shift
Second Shift: 2:00pm - 10:30pm, Monday - Friday, or as job responsibilities require
Pay
$25.39 - $27.93/hr + $1.50 Shift Premium
Functions
Ensure that all safety regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices are being followed
Provide support and direction to operators to ensure that processes are operating at target safety, quality, and performance targets
Provide support and direction to operators to ensure paperwork and all related processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner
Participate in Continuous Improvement activities, helping to drive problem solving
Troubleshoot product and machine related issues
Assist supervisor in developing and implementing departmental goals
Assist supervisor in employee development activities
Assist supervisor in prioritizing production
Assist the supervisor in developing and implementing the required training for the operators to ensure all regulatory and quality standards are met
Assist supervisor with the administration of progressive discipline
Provide operator performance feedback to Supervisor to assist with performance evaluations
Communicate with other departments and work with them to share good ideas as well as solve problems
Role model teamwork between shifts and departments
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience
1+ years of experience in a leadership position preferred
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Experience in a food processing environment preferred
Experience working with powders and high speed manufacturing equipment preferred
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of basic mechanical aptitude
Knowledge of basic math
Ability to balance several tasks at once
Skills in troubleshooting product/machine related issues
Skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
