Basic Job PurposeThe job purpose of an industrial painter is to prepare and apply protective coatings to industrial structures, equipment,and surfaces to prevent corrosion, extend lifespan, and ensure safety and compliance with industry standards.Assignment Of Functions And ResponsibilitiesPaint surfaces of metal parts using spray painting equipment and work aids utilizing specific surface preparation and painting techniquesApply a variety of coatings including enamels, epoxies, urethanes and military coatings from various different paint manufactures to consistently meet paint thickness requirementMix paint precisely to manufacturer, Fox Valley Metal-Tech, and customer specificationsAccurately document and record all required data needed to comply with each specificationPrior to painting, clean and prepare part surfaces as specified to be contamination freeInspect parts prior to paint for needed repair, prepping and cleaningMask parts to print notes stating tight tolerances for overspray preventionHang or set-up parts prior to paintingInspect parts after painting for needed repairs, proper thickness and general appearanceSand, mask, blend and finish to match part's surrounding areas when completing paint repairs.Operate spray booth, oven, and ventilation system per specific instructionsRead and comprehend documents such as, fabrication drawings, cutting orders, bills of material or other project plans, orders or specification in the orderProperly maintain paint equipment, i, spray guns, booth, fitters, etc.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisorOther duties as assigned by your Leader.
