Central Office/Network Technician

The Central Office/Network Technician supports the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of switching, routing, transport, and fiber systems that deliver voice, video, and data services. This position is responsible for troubleshooting alarms and circuit issues, performing turn-ups and acceptance testing, completing scheduled software backups/updates, and maintaining accurate technical documentation. The role works closely with Network Planning, vendors, and field technicians and participates in an on-call rotation to support a critical communications network.Location: Jackson, NebraskaCompensation: Based on experienceWork schedule: On-call rotation; occasional after-hours work during scheduled maintenance windowsPrimary responsibilities: Central office switching/routing, IP networking (LAN/WAN), circuit provisioning/turn-ups, fiber testing/splicing, and central office power plant support (batteries, rectifiers, and fuse alarms)Minimum qualifications: Three (3) years of recent experience in a central office/telephony environment (or equivalent training/experience); MetaSwitch and GPON/IPTV knowledge preferredAdditional requirements: Valid driver’s license; ability to pass a background check and/or drug screening; travel may be required
