Monday 7 AM) Position Overview: We are seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens assignment providing weekend call coverage in Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity for a GI specialist comfortable with ERCP, EUS, and handling emergent gastrointestinal cases. Position Details: Location: Chippenham & Johnston-Willis Hospitals (Richmond, VA) Schedule: Weekend call shifts ??? Friday 5 PM to Monday 7 AM Volume: ~1 patient/day (emergency consults/procedures only) Support Staff: Independent coverage (no additional staff on-site) Responsibilities: Respond to GI emergencies and consults throughout the weekend Perform ERCP and EUS procedures as needed Coordinate with hospital teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Provide clear documentation and hand-offs post-call coverage Candidate Qualifications: Board Certified in Gastroenterology Proficient in ERCP and EUS procedures Comfortable managing GI emergencies independently Licensed or eligible for licensure in Virginia Compensation & Perks: Competitive weekend call rate Malpractice coverage provided Work in two well-respected hospitals within a dynamic and collegial environment Potential for future locum tenens engagements Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply by submitting their CV and any relevant credentials.
