This position works closely with bartenders to keep the bar clean, stocked, organized, and fully prepared for service. Barbacks operate with urgency, attention to detail, and pride in execution, helping maintain the rhythm of service while upholding Vandelay's hospitality and presentation standards. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working as part of a tight-knit team, and is eager to grow their knowledge of beverages and service.Core ResponsibilitiesSupport bartenders throughout service to ensure efficient, seamless bar operationsMaintain cleanliness and organization behind the bar, including bar tops, wells, floors, sinks, and service areasWash, polish, and organize glassware to ensure consistent availability during serviceStock and replenish liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, garnishes, and bar supplies (LBW)Assist with prep work including fresh juice, fruit prep, garnishes, and batch cocktailsRun food to the bar and dining room as needed to support service flowMonitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to bartenders and managersFollow opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures to ensure the bar is fully prepared and properly broken downMaintain basic working knowledge of liquor, beer, wine, and cocktails to support the bar team effectivelyCommunicate clearly and professionally with bartenders, servers, and managersUphold Vandelay's standards of cleanliness, organization, and hospitality at all timesRequirementsMust be at least 21 years old.Positive attitude with a strong sense of responsibility and pride in providing excellent service.Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.Team-oriented mindset, with reliable punctuality and a willingness to support teammates as needed.Experience in an upscale, full-service restaurant is preferred but not required.Eagerness to learn and grow within the position and hospitality industry.Ability to follow direction, take initiative, and maintain a clean, organized workspace.Certification for food handling as required by state and local regulations.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to work standing and walking for extended periods of timeBenefits & PerksMedical, Dental and Vision benefits availableFlexible scheduleProfessional development and career growthFamily MealsDining discounts at all Vandelay Hospitality Group conceptsAll Vandelay Hospitality Group restaurants are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and the 4th of July so our team can celebrate with their friends and familyA collaborative, uplifting culture where we take care of our guests by taking care of our people firstIf you're a passionate professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to grow with a company that values hospitality and teamwork, we'd love to hear from you!
