Cafeteria Manager
Cafeteria Manager Greene County Schools is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cafeteria Manager to lead the daily operations of a school cafeteria. This position plays a vital role in ensuring students receive healthy, nutritious meals in a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment. Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all aspects of cafeteria operations, including food preparation, service, inventory, and compliance with health and safety regulations. Supervise, schedule, and coordinate a team of up to five employees, fostering a positive and efficient work environment. Maintain accurate records, reports, and communications using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google applications (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc.). Monitor food quality and safety standards; ensure compliance with USDA, state, and local regulations. Develop and implement solutions to challenges in staffing, food service, or equipment. Provide clear communication with staff, administrators, and students. Promote a safe, respectful, and customer-friendly cafeteria atmosphere. Qualifications: Previous experience in managing a commercial kitchen or large-scale food service environment. Current food safety certification (or ability to successfully complete certification within 6 weeks of hire). Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc.). Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and lead a team effectively. Independent learner with strong problem-solving skills. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods. Preferred Skills: Experience working in a school or institutional food service setting. Knowledge of federal child nutrition programs. Budgeting and inventory management experience.
