Local Sales Representative - Horticultural Industry

Job Overview Southern Growers is a growing horticultural operation serving landscapers, garden centers, contractors, and wholesale customers throughout Central Alabama. We are seeking a Local Sales Representative to manage and grow relationships with existing customers while developing new business within the region. This position is ideal for someone who understands plants, nursery production, or the green industry and enjoys relationship-based sales in a hands-on environment. Responsibilities Manage and grow an established book of local wholesale customers Develop new customer relationships with landscapers, contractors, and garden centers Conduct in-person sales visits and on-site customer meetings Provide product recommendations based on customer needs, seasonality, and availability Coordinate with production and operations teams to ensure accurate orders and delivery timing Prepare quotes, process orders, and follow up on customer satisfaction Stay informed on plant material, inventory, and market trends Represent Southern Growers professionally in the local market Qualifications Experience in horticulture, nursery operations, landscaping, or green industry sales preferred Strong communication and relationship-building skills Self-motivated with the ability to manage time and territory effectively Comfortable with face-to-face sales and local travel Basic computer skills (email, order entry, CRM or similar systems) Valid driver’s license Compensation & Benefits Competitive base pay plus commission (based on experience) Local territory – some overnight travel Opportunity for growth within a growing horticultural business Supportive, team-oriented work environment Schedule Monday to Friday Occasional seasonal flexibility during peak sales periods How to Apply Apply through Indeed or submit your resume highlighting relevant sales or horticultural experience.
