GCP Platform Engineer

About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled GCP Platform Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable cloud infrastructure and data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires strong hands-on expertise in cloud engineering, data processing, and platform optimization, along with the ability to collaborate across teams to drive cloud best practices.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructureArchitect, develop, deploy, and support cloud-based systems on GCPCollaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cloud adoption, migration, and best practicesWork closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutionsEnsure cloud security, compliance, and operational reliabilityConduct cloud utilization audits and recommend performance and cost optimizationsProvide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teamsDesired ResponsibilitiesManage and optimize GCP resources, including BigQuery, Kubernetes (GKE), and DatabricksDesign scalable data architectures aligned with business needsOptimize data processing workloads for performance and cost efficiencyImplement monitoring, logging, and performance metrics for applications and data pipelinesDevelop strategies for cloud cost management and resource optimizationCollaborate with data engineers and developers for seamless integrationRequired Skills & ExperienceStrong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) servicesHands-on expertise in BigQuery, Kubernetes (GKE), and DatabricksSolid background in data engineering, including ETL, data modeling, and data warehousingExperience in performance tuning and query optimizationProficiency in managing containerized applications using KubernetesFamiliarity with cloud monitoring and logging tools (Cloud Monitoring / Stackdriver)Knowledge of cloud cost optimization and billing tools
