Senior Structures Engineer

ARS is seeking a Structures Engineer responsible for providing specialized technical support for Air Force aircraft structural systems throughout their complete lifecycle. This role involves ensuring structural integrity, airworthiness compliance, and systems engineering expertise for military aircraft programs, working directly with DoD acquisition processes and contractor evaluations. ARS employees are motivated through our industry competitive benefits package, our awards and recognition program, and personalized attention from ARS Senior Managers.Responsibilities include:Develop, procure, sustain, and modify aircraft structures systems, sub-systems, components and equipmentProvide systems engineering expertise in structures design and integration, manufacturing, quality and industrial engineeringDevelop and maintain critical structures systems engineering documentation including specifications, system requirements documents, and SEPsExecute AFPD 62-6 USAF Airworthiness requirements through standardized processes and flight authorization issuanceProvide technical expertise on aircraft structural integrity and airworthiness complianceEvaluate technical documents for specification and airworthiness compliance demonstrationSupport Interface Control Documents, open system architecture, hardware, and software developmentProvide safety expertise ensuring compliance with MIL-STD-882 and FAA safety requirementsAssist in translating user requirements into weapons system requirements for design, development, fabrication, test, and evaluationSupport milestone reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and other technical coordination meetingsEvaluate contractor recommendations for operational and support issues including ECPs and modification proposalsOther duties as assignedQualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:Must be US Citizen Active Secret clearance required Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program (preferably Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering)Knowledge of MIL-STD-1530, JSSG-2006, MIL-STD-1568, and MIL-HDBK-516 requirementsUnderstanding of durability and damage tolerance, aircraft loads, material processes and standardsExperience with corrosion protection and structural dynamicsKnowledge of MIL-STD-882 and FAA safety requirementsUnderstanding of AFPD 62-6 USAF Airworthiness processesExperience with DoD acquisition processes and documentationFamiliarity with Life Cycle Systems Engineering (LCSE) processesKnowledge of aircraft structural integrity principlesExperience with systems engineering documentation and processesAll positions at Applied Research Solutions are subject to background investigations.
