This long term opportunity is located in Downton Houston. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex data challenges, optimizing real-time systems, and building reliable infrastructure for mission-critical analytics. You’ll play a key role in shaping our time-series data strategy, supporting use cases across monitoring, industrial systems, and real-time decision-making.Core ResponsibilitiesTime-Series Database ExpertiseDesign, implement, and optimize solutions using leading time-series databases such as VictoriaMetrics, InfluxDB, TimescaleDB, Prometheus, or OpenTSDBDevelop scalable data models including retention policies, downsampling, aggregation, and compression strategiesBuild efficient and reliable pipelines for high-ingestion-rate time-series dataQuery Optimization & Data AccessWrite and optimize complex time-windowed queries (e.g., sliding windows, gap filling, rate calculations)Work with SQL and TSDB-specific query languages such as PromQL, MetricQL, Flux, and TSQLImprove query performance for large-scale datasetsData Engineering & StreamingDesign schemas for high-cardinality datasetsBuild and maintain real-time ingestion pipelines using Kafka, Flink, or Spark StreamingDevelop and manage ETL/ELT workflowsRequired Qualifications5 years experience with at least one major time-series databaseAdvanced SQL skills and experience with time-series query languagesProven ability to design scalable, high-throughput data systemsExperience with stream processing frameworks (Kafka, Flink, or Spark)Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)Proficiency in Python, Go, or JavaStrong understanding of observability, monitoring, and system reliability
