CNC Operator

Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision parts and components. Your expertise will ensure that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely while adhering to strict quality standards. Responsibilities Operate CNC machining equipment such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and CNC machining centers to produce parts according to technical specifications. Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and production documents accurately. Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and adjust machine parameters for optimal performance. Perform routine setup tasks including tooling selection, fixture installation, and calibration using precision measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Conduct dimensional inspections and quality control checks utilizing GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision instruments. Troubleshoot industrial equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety standards in production and handling materials responsibly with forklift or other warehouse equipment as needed. Qualifications Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or similar industrial equipment in a manufacturing setting. Strong knowledge of CNC programming, CAM programming, and interpreting technical drawings or blueprints. Familiarity with Fanuc controls or other CNC control systems is highly desirable. Ability to read mechanical blueprints and perform shop math accurately for precise fabrication. Mechanical knowledge related to tooling, fabrication processes, stamping presses, press brake machines, welding, and materials handling. Experience with safety standards in production environments and the use of precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators. Basic shop math skills combined with problem-solving abilities for troubleshooting machinery issues effectively. Prior factory or manufacturing facility experience preferred; familiarity with SolidWorks or CAD software is a plus.
