Messaging & Collaboration Engineer II

SUMMARY: The Messaging & Collaboration Engineer is responsible for the administration, security, availability, and optimization of Microsoft 365 services across Microsoft Exchange (hybrid), collaboration, compliance, archiving, and endpoint management platforms. This role supports hybrid and cloud deployments, mail flow and SMTP routing, email security and data governance controls, automates administration using PowerShell, and ensures reliable service delivery and user experience.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.Messaging, Mail Flow & Email Security:Administers and supports Microsoft Exchange (hybrid), including user and shared mailboxes, distribution groups, and mail flowManages Proofpoint email security services, including spam filtering, and phishing protectionConfigures and maintains Authorized Sender / Trusted Sender policies in Proofpoint and Exchange OnlineManages allow/block lists, trusted domains, and third-party sender configurationsDesigns, configures, and supports Application Mail Relay for internal and third-party applicationsCreates and maintains mail relay connectors, authentication methods, and IP based trust relationshipsEnsures proper configuration and alignment of SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, including application and relay sendersTroubleshoots application mail delivery issues and relay failuresProvides Tier 2/3 support for messaging, collaboration, endpoint, and application email servicesPartners with security, networking, and application teams to troubleshoot service issues across authentication, mail flow, DNS, and client connectivity.Microsoft 365 Administration:Administers Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Intune, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePointAdministers device enrollment, configuration, and lifecycle managementManages MDM and MAM for corporate-owned and BYOD devicesConfigures device enrollment methods (Autopilot, corporate-owned, BYOD)Creates and maintains device compliance policies, configuration profiles, and security baselinesManages Microsoft Purview (Security & Compliance) features including retention policies (Exchange Online retention/M365 retention), data retention requirements, and DLP.Develops and maintains administrative automation using PowerShell scripting across Office 365, Azure AD, Teams, and SharePoint.Monitors Microsoft 365 service health and manage service-related incidentsTroubleshoot device enrollment, compliance, and access issues affecting Microsoft 365 servicesCoordinates tenant configuration changes and feature rolloutGeneral:Helps Desk ticket response, MAC (Move/Add/Change) request fulfillment, formal Change Control processesMaintenance and creation of team documentation and process workflowsOther responsibilities as assigned by Management.Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.Identifies and reports suspicious activity.EDUCATIONCollege degree or equivalent work experience requiredEXPERIENCE1-3 YearsExperience with Desired Configuration Management (DCM) tools required4-6 YearsPractical experience in Information Technology and Desktop Supportrequired1-3 YearsHands-on experience with Proofpoint email security, including authorized sender and relay managementpreferred4-6 YearsExperience designing and supporting Application Mail Relay solutionsrequired4-6 YearsExperience with Microsoft Intune and mobile device management (MDM/MAM)required4-6 YearsPowerShell experience for M365, Exchange, Intune, or mail flow automationrequiredExperience integrating third-party security solutions with Microsoft 365 (eg, Proofpoint)KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESHands-on administration of Microsoft 365 tenant services with strong operational and troubleshooting skills.PowerShell scripting expertise within Office 365 / Azure AD / Teams / SharePoint.Strong knowledge of authentication in a Microsoft hybrid environment, including modern authentication and hybrid identity patterns.Strong understanding of email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and mail routingStrong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skillsAbility to build relationships between the customers and the team membersAbility to work independentlySelf-motivatedAbility to set own goals and manage towards themStrong written and oral communication skillsStrong customer service skillsUnderstanding of Microsoft 365, Windows 365, Entra, Intune, Exchange Online and MS Teams platform administrationUnderstanding of common application technologies (e.g. Office 365 suite, Outlook, Copilot, Edge)ADDITIONAL INFORMATION* Candidates residing in locations within BankUnited's footprint may be given preference.
