Job SummaryPerforms laboratory tests to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of solid, liquid, or gaseous materials for such purposes as quality control, process control, or product development by performing the following duties:Main Duties And ResponsibilitiesPrimary responsibility to ensure optimum chemical and parameters levels are maintained. Monitor daily and weekly trends to proactively make necessary corrections to chemistry or process parameters.Sets up, adjusts and operates laboratory equipment and instruments such as microscopes, centrifuge, agitators, viscosimeter, chemical balance scales, spectrophotometer, gas chromatography, colorimeter, and other equipment.Tests solutions used in processes such as anodizing, waterproofing, cleaning, bleaching, and pickling for chemical concentration, specific gravity, or other characteristics.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITESResponsible to test and insure the solution chemistry stays in balanceDaily titrations, metallic analysis of plating line and waste treatmentDetail use of Lab Works SoftwareChemical additionsChemical inventoryOutside testing requirements yearly part certificationCalibration schedule for all equipment make sure it is set and followedEnd product testing, cross sections, micro porous readings, sulfur testing, panel work, chrome throw, CASS cabinet testing, feeder pump calibrationHelp Trouble shoot the lineWork with outside chemical & equipment suppliersSupport the reporting functions for all local, state and federal regulatory bodies, ensuring that they are on time and accurate.Metallurgical polishing and examinationsHousekeeping lab and glass warePart of all 8 D teamsCertification and calibration of lab equipmentWork with the Plating Line super for designing and maintain a detailed PM program for solution and equipment (Labworks system)pH meter calibrationContinuous improvement ideasWork to help resolve customer issuesResponsible for the day to day operations and quality for the plant.Search new and improved testing, lab equipment and plating systems.Lead in PPAP submission documentationOther duties as requested.Salary: $65000 per year
