Role: PLC Controls EngineerLocation: Dearborn, MIDuration: 12+ MonthsPayrate: $40to $42hr on W2 + PTO + BenefitsPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced PLC Controls Engineer to support manufacturing controls, assembly, and machining operations for vehicle and powertrain programs. This role will be responsible for PLC programming, controls architecture implementation, troubleshooting automation systems, and supporting new production launches.Key ResponsibilitiesLead controls engineering activities from design through program launchImplement and maintain standard automation hardware and software architecturesSupport assembly and machining manufacturing systemsTroubleshoot PLC, CNC, robot, vision, and automation equipment issuesCoordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teamsSupport production downtime events and continuous improvement initiativesTravel to manufacturing facilities as needed during launch activitiesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Software Engineering, or related field preferred5+ years of controls or automation engineering experienceExperience with Siemens and/or Rockwell PLC programmingAbility to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematicsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of industrial networking and communication protocolsExperience in manufacturing, assembly, or machining environmentsPreferred QualificationsSiemens SCL programming experienceExperience with CNC, robotics, RFID, and machine vision systemsKnowledge of UL, ISO, IEC, and machine safety standardsExperience with FMEA, DMAIC, DOE, 8D, and continuous improvement methodologiesAbility to support AI-driven process improvement initiatives
