Ensure student-athletes safety by actively scanning the pool, enforcing rules, and responding instantly to emergencies using CPR/First Aid. What You'll Be Doing: (Responsibilities) Maintain constant, active, and focused surveillance of the swimming area to spot hazards or distressed swimmers Consistently and professionally enforce facility policies to prevent accidents. Recognize and respond immediately to emergencies, performing rescues, CPR, or first aid as trained. Inspect the pool area and equipment daily, reporting hazards to the Swim Coordinator. Greet patrons, communicate rules clearly, and fill out incident reports. Help provide information for transportation, facilities, officials and game management. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Student-athletes To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To: (Qualifications) Must have a Teachers Certificate or valid Substitute Certificate or Temporary (provisional) Teacher’s Certificate. Current American Red Cross (or equivalent, such as YMCA or Ellis) Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications. Employed in the school as a teacher or administrator in which the candidate applies for a position.
