Senior Pilot - King Air

SUMMARY The Turbine Aircraft Pilot is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of Sanborn’s fleet of turbine-powered aircraft, including Aero Commander and King Air 300 series. The ideal candidate will be single type rated in King Air 300 series. The pilot will lead flight operations for airborne data acquisition, primarily under FAA Part 91 regulations. This position requires extensive travel and overnight deployments, with absences from home base potentially exceeding 200 days per year. The pilot is expected to maintain the highest professional and safety standards in accordance with FAA regulations and company policies. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Operate turbine aircraft for geospatial data collection, often during night operations. Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) under FAA 14 CFR Part 91. Conduct detailed flight planning and risk assessments. Ensure compliance with Sanborn Flight Operations Manual and Standard Operating Procedures. Maintain accurate and timely pilot logs, daily reports, and acquisition logs. Coordinate aircraft relocation and flight scheduling to optimize data collection and resources; collaborate with flight planners and project managers to execute flight missions within technical and budgetary constraints. Monitor weather forecasts and provide strategic relocation recommendations for optimal data collection. Maintain effective communication with Air Traffic Control and secure airspace clearances when required. Participate in company training programs and complete annual ground and flight training; provide in-aircraft demonstration of capabilities for internal or client stakeholders as needed. Assist with aircraft readiness and collaborate with maintenance personnel to ensure airworthiness. Maintain a professional image and deliver excellent service to internal and external customers. Perform other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None. EDUCATION ATP Certificate required. EXPERIENCE Minimum 2,000 hours total flight time. Minimum 1,500 hours Pilot-in-Command. Minimum 1,500 hours multi-engine. Minimum 500 hours turbine. Minimum 200 hours in King Air 300 series or comparable aircraft. Type rating Single Pilot in King Air 300 series preferred. Experience with night operations and geospatial data acquisition preferred. Competency in digital flight planning and navigation tools. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS — OTHER REQUIREMENTS Must be insurable under Sanborn’s aviation policy. No major reported aircraft incidents. Successful completion of FAA drug testing and background checks. Ability to provide in-aircraft training and flight checks to company pilots. Ability to maintain daily reporting requirements.
