Development DirectorAmerican Foundation for Children with AIDS (AFCA)Remote / Hybrid (Candidates located within ~1–2 hours of Harrisburg, PA preferred for occasional in-person meetings and events)The American Foundation for Children with AIDS (AFCA) is seeking a Development Director to lead and scale our fundraising efforts as we enter our next phase of growth. This is a senior, hands-on role focused on building sustainable fundraising systems, strengthening donor relationships, and expanding revenue through partnerships and individual giving.AFCA is a small but impactful nonprofit serving children infected and/or affected by HIV/AIDS in five African countries. Our areas of impact include medical support, livelihoods, sustainable food solutions, sanitation, educational support, and emergency relief. With strong program outcomes and a highly efficient operating model, the organization is now investing in development infrastructure to support long-term growth.This role will work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors and will play a key role in shaping AFCA’s fundraising strategy for the future.Key Responsibilities:Donor Development & Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain relationships with individual donors Reactivate lapsed donors and strengthen donor retention Convert one-time donors into recurring supporters Cultivate and steward major donors Corporate & Community PartnershipsDevelop partnerships with businesses, civic groups, and foundations Secure sponsorships for events and programs Represent AFCA at meetings, events, and presentations Fundraising Systems & StrategyOwn and lead AFCA’s fundraising strategy and executionDevelop and manage donor acquisition and renewal strategies Oversee direct marketing and outreach campaigns Manage relationships with outside vendors or consultants as needed Track fundraising performance and return on investment Identify and pursue select grant opportunities as part of a broader fundraising strategy Help establish long-term development infrastructure Collaboration & LeadershipWork closely with the Executive Director on fundraising priorities Communicate regularly with the Board regarding development progress Help define realistic fundraising goals and growth plans First-Year PrioritiesBuild and implement a donor acquisition and renewal strategy Increase recurring (monthly) donor base Strengthen relationships with existing donors and partners Establish systems and processes for long-term fundraising growthWhat This Role Is NOT:This role is not event-coordination or administrative support.
