Mid-Level Process Engineer (Hybrid/Remote)Description:As a mid-level process engineer, you will support the design, analysis, and documentation of nuclear and chemical process systems, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams during project development and execution of DOE and nuclear facility projects.This role requires hands‐on experience performing and formally documenting process engineering calculations, developing process equipment specifications, and supporting design activities in highly regulated nuclear environments.Key Responsibilities:Perform and document process engineering calculations in support of nuclear and chemical process systemsSupport process design development during conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design phasesDevelop and review: Engineering calculationsProcess flow diagrams (PFDs)Piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)Process equipment specifications and data sheetsApply applicable nuclear, chemical, and safety requirements to process designsInterface with mechanical, electrical, I&C, safety, and operations teams to ensure integrated design solutionsSupport design reviews, technical evaluations, and configuration control activitiesPrepare and maintain formal engineering documentation, calculations, and technical reports in accordance with quality and regulatory requirementsProvide technical support during procurement, construction, startup, or readiness activities as requiredMentor or provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers when appropriateBasic Qualifications:B.S. Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program5+ years in process engineering roles within industrial, nuclear, or government facilities U.S. Citizenship requiredExperience performing and documenting process engineering calculationsFamiliarity with process equipment specification and system designExperience working within regulated environments and structured engineering proceduresPreferred Qualifications:In addition to the Basic Qualifications the ideal candidate might also have:Prior nuclear, DOE, or high‐hazard facility design experienceExperience with nuclear material or uranium processing systemsExperience working under a formal quality program (ISO 9001, NQA 1)Experience serving in a project engineering or technical lead roleExperience coordinating or reviewing the work of other engineers or designersProfessional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtainStrong analytical, problem‐solving, and communication skillsMaster's degree in Engineering from an ABET‐accredited institutionSelf‐motivated, detail‐oriented, and team‐focused professionalWork Environment:Primarily office‐based work in a secure engineering environmentAmentum office location is preferred; hybrid or remote work may be available by prior agreement based on role and project requirementsOccasional exposure to industrial facilities, which may include elevated noise levels, hazardous materials, or controlled areasSite visits may be requiredPhysical Requirements:Ability to sit or stand for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 35 lbs occasionallyVision correctable to 20/20Ability to read and use computer‐aided design software effectivelyAppropriate PPE and training will be provided as requiredCompliance & Eligibility Requirements:U.S. Citizenship required (no dual citizenship)Valid driver's license is requiredAbility to obtain and maintain a security clearanceAbility to pass pre‐employment background investigation and drug screeningWillingness to work overtime or outside normal hours as neededProfessional appearance appropriate for a customer‐facing engineering environmentTravel required: less than 10%Compensation Details:$90,000 - $150,000The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good‐faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
