We are seeking high-caliber project execution talent capable of delivering industrial projects at speed with strong cost, schedule, and quality discipline.Position OverviewGTI Energy is seeking a Project Engineer to support capital projects, facility expansions, construction management, and infrastructure improvements across our Real Estate and Construction portfolio. This role is responsible for coordinating contractors, managing schedules, reviewing drawings, tracking budgets, administering project documentation, and ensuring successful execution from concept through turnover.The ideal candidate will come from either a General Contractor environment or an internal Facilities / Construction team within a manufacturing company. This role requires strong field coordination capability, technical understanding of building systems, and the ability to manage multiple fast-moving projects in occupied industrial environments.Key Responsibilities Project Execution & Construction Management Support end-to-end execution of construction, expansion, retrofit, and facilities improvement projects across GTI locationsCoordinate project activities from planning, design, permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeoutAssist in managing multiple concurrent projects including office buildouts, warehouse expansions, manufacturing line installations, utility upgrades, and site improvementsEnsure projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to GTI quality expectationsDrive urgency and accountability with contractors, vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders Contractor & Vendor Coordination Serve as day-to-day point of contact for General Contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and equipment vendorsCoordinate field activities across trades including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire protection, HVAC, controls, and civil contractorsMonitor contractor manpower, progress, sequencing, and schedule adherenceResolve field conflicts, access issues, and scope coordination problems quicklySupport bid walks, contractor selection, and vendor performance evaluations Scheduling & Milestone Management Build and maintain project schedules, milestone trackers, and look-ahead plansIdentify critical path risks and proactively drive recovery plans when schedules slipCoordinate shutdown windows, production constraints, and phased construction plans in active facilitiesCommunicate schedule changes and impacts clearly to leadership and plant stakeholdersSupport high-speed execution in growth-driven environments with compressed timelines Budgeting, Cost Control & Financial Management Track project budgets, commitments, change orders, forecasts, and final cost projectionsReview contractor pay applications, invoices, and progress billing for accuracyAssist with capital appropriation requests, spend reporting, and ROI justificationsIdentify cost savings opportunities without compromising schedule or qualitySupport disciplined change management and scope control throughout project lifecycle Design Review & Technical Coordination Review architectural, civil, MEP, and structural drawings for constructability and operational fitCoordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure designs support manufacturing flow, safety, utilities, and future scalabilityAssist in layout planning for production lines, warehousing, office space, material flow, and employee support areasEnsure design packages are coordinated across disciplines prior to construction releaseSupport equipment installation planning and facility readiness for manufacturing operations Permitting, Compliance & Safety Coordinate permits, inspections, AHJ interactions, and occupancy approvals as requiredEnsure projects comply with building codes, OSHA standards, fire/life safety requirements, and company policiesMaintain strong contractor safety expectations and field compliance standardsSupport environmental, zoning, and site development requirements where applicable Facilities & Manufacturing Environment Support Partner with plant leadership to execute projects within live manufacturing environments with minimal disruptionCoordinate utility tie-ins, shutdowns, temporary services, relocations, and operational continuity planningSupport infrastructure upgrades including electrical service, compressed air, chilled water, HVAC, fire suppression, security, and IT systemsUnderstand facility constraints common to fabrication, welding, paint, assembly, and warehouse operations Documentation, Reporting & Controls Maintain RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, action logs, drawings, permits, punch lists, and closeout documentationBuild executive-ready project status reports including budget, schedule, risks, and next stepsTrack decisions, owner responsibilities, and contractor deliverablesMaintain organized records for audits, warranty claims, and future facility reference Commissioning, Turnover & Closeout Support startup, commissioning, and turnover of completed projects to Operations and Facilities teamsCoordinate punch list completion, training, O&M manuals, as-builts, and warranty documentationVerify systems are functioning as intended prior to final acceptanceEnsure seamless handoff to plant stakeholders and end users Continuous Improvement & Strategic Growth Support Improve GTI project delivery standards, contractor management systems, and construction processesSupport future greenfield sites, acquisitions, plant launches, and large-scale expansion programsBenchmark best practices from industrial construction, manufacturing facilities, and fast-growth operatorsContribute to long-term facility planning and capacity expansion strategiesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred3–8+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, Construction Engineer, Facilities Project Engineer, or similar roleExperience working for a General Contractor, Design-Build firm, Developer, or internal Facilities / Construction team within a manufacturing companyStrong understanding of commercial / industrial construction processes and project controlsExperience managing contractors, schedules, RFIs, submittals, budgets, and field coordinationAbility to read construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentationStrong communication, urgency, and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple concurrent projects in fast-paced environmentsPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting manufacturing plants, distribution centers, fabrication shops, warehouses, or industrial campusesExperience with facility expansions, equipment installations, utility upgrades, or tenant improvementsFamiliarity with HVAC, electrical infrastructure, fire protection, compressed air, and plant utilitiesExposure to contract manufacturing, fabrication, welding,
