Human Resources Generalist

Job description Schaper Construction is seeking a Human Resource Generalist, Schaper Construction is a National Painting and General Contractor with headquarters in San Jose. We are currently seeking an experienced HR Generalist with high integrity and professionalism who can join our team. The Human Resources Generalist will be reporting to the CFO and HR Manager and will be an integral part of the HR team. The Primary Programs managed will be safety program, workers compensation, benefits and assist with payroll tax filing. The Human Resources Generalist will also be responsible for coordinating between Operational Programs, Staff leaders, and within combined groups to achieve company goals while striving to operate within Human Resources related laws, regulations, and best practices. This is a full-time, exempt, in-person position located at our San Jose Headquarters. Responsibilities for this position will include but not limited to: Complete employer intake for disability claims, respond to injured workers, facilitate claims, and return to work programs. Oversee open enrollment for health plans and new hire enrollment. Support regional teams for safety, risk management, planning, testing and program implementation. Support finance team on auditing requirements and prepare HR Reporting and HR data analysis. Complete background checks and drug testing as required. Assist CFO and Controller with filing quarterly and annual tax filings for in-house payroll, multistate and multi corporation accounts. Respond to all employee state and federal correspondence for employment data requests. Fit with the culture and strive to improve it. Service multiple commonly owned organizations. Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Google workspace Excellent oral presentation, excellent written skills, polite and responsive etiquette a must. Assist HR Manager on terminations and off boarding. Education: HR College Graduate or 1-4 years of experience.
