Job Title: Architectural DesignerLocation: Palo Alto, CA | Full-TimeAbout the RoleA design-focused architecture studio is seeking a talented Architectural Designer to support residential projects throughout the Bay Area. This role involves developing concepts through schematic design and construction documentation, producing high-quality visual presentations, coordinating consultants, supporting permitting processes, and assisting with construction administration. (Flexible/hybrid work schedule)The ideal candidate will have strong residential design experience, excellent technical documentation skills, and a passion for thoughtful, site-responsive architecture.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop residential design concepts through schematic design, design development, and construction documentationProduce CAD drawings, construction details, schedules, elevations, sections, and 3D viewsCreate visualizations, diagrams, renderings, and client presentation materialsPrepare permit submittals and respond to jurisdiction review commentsCoordinate with consultants, contractors, and project teamsParticipate in client meetings, site visits, and construction administration activitiesSupport RFIs, submittals, site observations, and project coordinationConduct code research, feasibility studies, and value engineering analysisMaintain studio documentation and design quality standardsRequired QualificationsProfessional degree in Architecture3–5 years of professional architectural experience, preferably residential projects in the Bay AreaProficiency in ArchiCAD or similar CAD/BIM softwareStrong construction documentation and detailing experienceKnowledge of California building codes, materials, and construction methodsStrong graphic presentation and communication skillsHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlinesPreferred QualificationsCalifornia architectural license or progress toward ARE/NCARB certificationResidential construction administration experienceExperience with active job site coordination and permitting processesSustainable and site-responsive design experienceCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experiencePaid time offHealth benefitsProfessional development supportFlexible/hybrid work schedule
