Charter One is now accepting applications for a SIS Specialist. The Student Information Systems Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing the technology systems that support student data and academic records. This position involves maintaining the integrity of student information databases, ensuring compliance with educational regulations, and providing technical support to faculty and staff. The Specialist will collaborate with various departments to streamline data processes, troubleshoot system issues, and implement new software solutions to enhance the overall student experience. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders are essential for success in this role. Job expectations include, but are not limited to: Assists with managing the reporting of student data and other key metrics needed by the schools. Develops collaborative relationships with stakeholders to find opportunities for future improvements with the systems. Analyzes patterns of problems from data; uses identified information to recommend improved solutions to existing systems and software issues or needs. Works with the SIS Director to develop strategy, policies, standards, and processes that result in innovative and enhanced user support, efficiency and accuracy. Assists the 7-12 scheduling for Infinite Campus (IC). Configures beginning of the year and state reporting needs for SIS. Configures OLR build for IC for enrollment and re-enrollment. Manages assigned projects, ensuring successful delivery according to approved specifications, timelines, and budgets. Implement new features and patches, determine the severity of the interruption. Reports to the SIS Director and then assists with the implementation process and communicates it to all affected parties. Assists the SIS Director and SIS Data Coordinator with setup of new systems. Analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, projecting consequences of proposed actions, and making recommendations in support of goals Coordinate and conduct individual and group training sessions to assure employee understanding of student information system software applications. Prepare related support material and determine and respond to training needs. Train and provide work direction and guidance to assigned personnel in projects Maintain various records related to assigned activities; ability to properly store data and pull for auditors, if needed . Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action using discretion and confidentiality when appropriate. Type or input data accurately and according to project timelines. Work independently with little direction. Plan and prioritize work to meet schedules and timelines. Other duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications: Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work on projects both independently and as a team. Able to think quickly and produce high-quality results under strict deadlines. Intermediate Excel experience. Analytic ability to work with data. Problem solving skills, ability to be creative and research potential solutions. Customer Service mind set.
