Job Title: Parts Room SupervisorJob SummaryThe Parts Room Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the parts room to ensure the smooth operation of multiple production lines in an electronics manufacturing environment. This role involves managing inventory, maintaining organization, and ensuring timely delivery of necessary components to support production operations. The supervisor will work closely with production teams, maintenance, and procurement to support manufacturing efficiency and minimize downtime.Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Management: Oversee the inventory of electronic components, spare parts, and production consumables, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation. Regularly perform cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.Parts Distribution: Manage the timely and efficient distribution of parts to support the needs of multiple production lines, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules. Prioritize requests based on urgency and production needs.Storage & Organization: Maintain an organized parts room with a system that ensures easy access to high-usage components. Establish and enforce labeling, storage, and identification standards, especially for ESD-sensitive components.Team Leadership: Lead and supervise the parts room personnel, providing training, support, and clear expectations to optimize productivity and accuracy. Ensure that staff understand and adhere to safety and ESD protocols.Coordination with Production: Collaborate with production line leads and maintenance teams to anticipate needs and prevent shortages. Ensure parts are delivered to production in an organized manner, following protocols for SMT and API equipment requirements.Supplier Coordination: Work with purchasing and suppliers to ensure timely restocking of inventory items. Address any discrepancies or issues with incoming parts to prevent disruptions in production.Data Accuracy: Utilize software systems to track inventory levels, update part movements, and maintain accurate records. Ensure data accuracy by recording all inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, and adjustments.Compliance & Safety: Maintain ESD safety compliance within the parts room by implementing and monitoring proper grounding procedures and handling protocols. Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed to prevent damage to sensitive components.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline parts room processes and improve efficiency. Participate in root cause analysis for inventory-related issues affecting production and implement corrective actions.Reporting: Generate regular reports on inventory levels, usage trends, and stock discrepancies. Provide data-driven insights to help improve production planning and inventory control.Other duties as assigned. RequirementsProven experience in inventory management or warehouse supervision in a manufacturing setting, preferably in electronics or SMT production environments.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a focus on maintaining inventory accuracy.Familiarity with ESD safety standards, SMT production processes, and handling electronic components.Proficient in using inventory management software and MS Office Suite.Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of managing and motivating a team.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight production schedules.Work EnvironmentThis role is based in an electronics manufacturing facility and requires working in a parts room environment, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting. The supervisor must ensure the proper handling of ESD-sensitive materials and work effectively with various stakeholders in the production area.
