ESSENTIAL DUTIES Nursing Process 1. Assessment Collects data and reports all unusual conditions or reactions to the nurse in charge. 2. Planning Communicates to the RN pertinent information that may relate to the patient's plan of care. 3. Implementation Performs various patient care patient activities and related non-professional services. Demonstrates competence in the care of pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients (when/if assigned to these patients) relative to determining each patient's age-related and other physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs and carrying out patient care activities. 4. Evaluation Communicates patient responses to care to the RN Professional Behavior 1. Confidentiality and Legal Issues Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to legal issues and patient rights in a confidential manner. Professional Performance 1. Knowledge Base and Technical Skills Demonstrates sound knowledge base and actions in inpatient care utilizing hospital and service-specific standards of care. Assists with patient care and activities of daily living in keeping with hospital policies and procedures. 2. Working Relationships Formulates and uses effective working relationships with all health care team members, patients, and significant others. 3. Attendance, Punctuality, and Dress Code Meets service-specific and hospital standards related to attendance and dress code. 4. Safety Functions with an awareness and application of safety issues as identified in hospital policies. 5. Communication Demonstrates effective communication skills utilizing lines of authority appropriately. Performs clerical and computer entry functions when needed, based upon service needs. Other Duties Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Clinical Nurse Supervisor/Manager.Required Qualification: License/Certification * Current CNA certificate preferred. * Current BLS required. * Proof of all license and certification is required at time of hire. Education * High school diploma or equivalent education preferred. * Required educational levels call for proof at the time of hire. Experience * A minimum of one to two-year experience in an acute/long-term care facility is preferred. Skills * Demonstrates written and verbal competency in the English language. * The employee must demonstrate basic computer skills Hazards * Will have close contact with patients and is likely to come in contact with blood and body fluids. * Often exposed to infection.
