Dallas-based position for a Senior Control Systems Engineer with expertise in motion controllers and servos. Products are designed for DoD end-users; candidates must be US Citizens or Permanent Residents.Electrical/Controls Engineer will develop electrical & control systems for custom manufacturing and test equipment and optical metrology systems. Control system architecture/systems integration of motion/temperature controls, sensors, vision systems, etc.Design of unique, robust automation solutions for precision fabrication & measurement systems. IDEAL: Expertise in design/development of servo motion controllers (ACS, Delta Tao, or Galil). Design of electronics & control systems for a linear motor-based XY stage.Select & integrate PLCs, motion controllers, power supplies, sensors & fieldbus networksProgramming and debugging of control SW (PLCs, motion controllers, industrial PCs)Integration of sensor output into SQL database repositoryOversee 3rd-party automation/camera calibration systems (re: architectures/interfaces).Support system bring-up, commissioning, FAT/SAT, and validation.Help Mechanical & Systems Engineers meet performance, precision & reliability standards.Support continuous improvement in production and R&D.BackgroundBS/MS EE/Controls/Mechatronics 5+ years of design & implementation of control systems for custom automated equipmentMotion control servo drives, encoders & multi-axis coordination.Interface to SQL databasesDesign of temperature control systems via PID or advanced control techniques.IdealPrecision equip. / metrology systems / optical instrumentationVision-camera-based systemsPython, LabVIEW, C#, or similar).Aero/DoD/regulated AS9100/quality systems.Salary up to $140k.
