Be our next Junior Accounting/Controls Specialist!
In this role, you will be a part of the Finance / Project Controls team for the Energy Services Sector.
What a day at EXP has in store for you:
Assist with various invoice tasks for all billable projects, including all applicable backup
Upload final invoices to client portals
Assist with the creation of monthly invoice register and invoice/backup templates
Assist with weekly/monthly Project Progress Reports for each PM.
Investigate project variances and budget balancing
Obtain required paperwork to set up new vendors
Audit subcontractor and consultant invoicing and associated backup
Run requested reports
Perform additional assignments as requested by Project Accounting and Project Control Leads
Helping collect, sort, and organize cost data for active projects
Assisting with routine tasks related to cost monitoring, cost control standards, and reporting
Compiling and verifying project budget data for reconciliations or estimates
Assisting in preparing cost tracking templates for subcontractor commitments
Collecting workforce and quantity data to support progress tracking and performance reporting
Identifying relevant project information from various disciplines to support cost, reporting and potential change management
Reporting cost variances or changes within assigned tasks
What your experience looks like:
2-4 years of Accounting (AP/AR/Billing). Experience with an engineering firm would be a bonus, but not a requirement.
Strong understanding of revenue recognition
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Revu Bluebeam and computer applications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated with independent work habits
High attention to detail and accuracy
Experience working in a fast-paced office and deadline oriented
Working knowledge of Deltek Vision or Vantage Point software is a definite asset
