As a member of the ophthalmology team, you will be actively involved in both appointments and daily surgical procedures. Our Technicians run appointments and manage anesthesia for surgical patients from start to finish including making anesthesia plans, inducing and recovering, and anesthesia monitoring.What We OfferThe pay range for this role is: $30-$35/hr. You will spend your first weeks training, building rapport, and establishing a team workflow before opening a brand new facility. This is a once-in-a-career chance to be a key part of a founding team and you’ll gain unique experience as we expand our state-of-the-art care in a new state. We are targeting a delayed start date in June 2026.Medical Responsibilities IncludeIn addition to traditional Veterinary Technician duties, you will:Running appointments: History taking, ophthalmic diagnostics (STT, IOP, fluorescein stain application)Client communication about histories and medicationsFilling medicationsAssisting with short procedures during appointments such as corneal debridementPerforming diagnostics when requested during appointments such as venipuncture for bloodwork and blood pressure measurementRecord keeping such as input of patient historiesCreating invoices for billing and estimate creation for proceduresSurgical Responsibilities IncludeCreate protocols for anesthesia or sedation for ophthalmic procedures using inhalant and injectable medications as well as (occasionally) paralyticsInduce patients for anesthesiaMonitor anesthesia and sedation closely throughout proceduresTroubleshoot patient anesthetic concerns and provide real-time treatmentsRecover patients from anesthesiaUtilize paralytics during anesthesia for microsurgical proceduresMaintain accurate and detailed records throughout surgical proceduresAssist with pre-surgical diagnostics and patient preparationIntaking and discharging surgical patientsContinuing EducationWe're serious about your growth and development.
