Lead Electrical Design Engineer - Power & Control SystemsLocation: Henrico, VAEmployment Type: Full-Time | Direct HireCompensation: Starting at $90,000+ annually (based on experience and technical background)Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support the development and integration of industrial power distribution and control systems. This role involves hands-on engineering responsibilities and collaboration with manufacturing, operations, and project teams to deliver dependable electrical solutions from concept through implementation.The ideal candidate will have strong experience with power systems design, control components, and electrical integration within industrial or electromechanical environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop electrical power distribution and control systems for industrial applicationsCreate and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering specifications, and bills of materialsSupport both new product development efforts and modifications to existing systemsEnsure engineering designs comply with applicable electrical codes, standards, and internal design practicesProvide technical support and guidance to manufacturing, operations, and production personnelMaintain organized engineering documentation, drawing revisions, and configuration recordsCollaborate with project teams from order release through manufacturing and final deliveryMonitor project schedules and support timely completion of engineering deliverablesParticipate in engineering reviews, technical discussions, and project coordination meetingsWork closely with cross-functional teams to improve system performance, reliability, and design efficiencyRequired QualificationsBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE required)Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering or power systems designU.S. Citizenship requiredExperience with industrial control components including relays, breakers, contactors, and metering devicesWorking knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens PLC experience preferred)Proficiency using AutoCAD Electrical (current version)Strong understanding of electrical wiring practices, integration methods, and equipment layoutFamiliarity with applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirementsExperience working with electromechanical systems and integrated equipmentCore CompetenciesStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilityAbility to work independently while managing multiple technical prioritiesEffective written and verbal communication skillsHigh attention to detail with a focus on engineering accuracy and documentation qualityAbility to work effectively in deadline-driven engineering and manufacturing environmentsWe may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
