Sales Assistant
Sales Assistant Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Sales Assistant to join our team. As a Sales Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day sales operations of our business. You will be responsible for managing customer orders, communicating with customers, and working with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Contact regular and new customers to take orders and answer their questions about products, prices, availability, delivery, and credit terms.
Collect payment from clients and prepare sales invoices.
Review greenhouse availability and communicate with other greenhouses when necessary.
Work with delivery and merchandise personnel to ensure customer service is satisfactory.
Assist with order preparation and loading to ensure accuracy.
Perform weight lifting up to 15-20lbs when necessary.
Communicate with vendors, make orders, compare prices, and ask billing questions.
Maintain the website and social media platforms.
Perform administrative duties such as recording payments and maintaining records.
Learn and memorize product names, varieties, growing processes, and care instructions.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 3 years of customer service experience.
Wholesale business-related experience preferred.
Excellent communication skills, including telephone proficiency.
Ability to plan, prepare, and present effective sales presentations.
Professional demeanor and appearance.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Detail-oriented.
Ability to multitask.
Positive attitude, punctuality, initiative, willingness to learn, open-mindedness, flexibility, and teamwork skills.
Problem-solving skills.
Ability to use occupational tools such as desktop computers, laptops, personal computers, and laser printers.
Ability to use occupational software such as QuickBooks, Excel, Word, Email, Google Drive, and Chrome (Google Search).
Valid driver’s license.
B2B sales experience preferred.
Retail sales experience required.
Mandarin language proficiency preferred.
This is a full-time position with a starting pay of $19 per hour. We offer an employee discount, health insurance, and paid time off. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The position is located in Bridgewater, NJ, and applicants must reliably commute or relocate before starting work.
