Life Safety/Security Communications Specialist – JLLWhat this job involves:The Life Safety/Security Communications Specialist plays a critical role in protecting personnel and assets across multiple facilities through expert emergency response coordination and real-time monitoring. Operating from a fast-paced, multi-discipline operations center, you'll serve as the vital communication link between security teams, emergency services, facility operations, and crisis management professionals. Your situational awareness and quick decision-making will directly support business continuity and ensure appropriate responses to critical incidents. This position offers the opportunity to develop specialized skills in emergency dispatch, security systems management, and incident coordination while working with cutting-edge safety technology platforms.What your day-to-day will look like:Process and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls for security, fire, EMS, and HazMat incidents using Emergency Medical Dispatch guidelines, determining priorities and providing pre-arrival instructions per established protocolsMonitor and respond to access control systems, surveillance camera feeds, fire alarm systems, and critical system alarms across multiple sites, assigning appropriate resources to investigate and address alertsServe as liaison between site EHS, Facility and Corporate Security personnel and state/county emergency services and law enforcement during incidents and emergencies, coordinating response effortsCreate, monitor, and manage work orders for multiple sites using Corrigo and other work request applications, ensuring timely completion and accurate documentationUtilize the Critical Event Management platform to disseminate urgent messages to key stakeholders, account for personnel during major events, and maintain communication with third-party monitoring companiesMonitor and operate multi-site radio systems while maintaining video surveillance oversight to support comprehensive security coverageComplete incident reports using CAD systems, conduct research using available resources, identify and escalate priority issues, and suggest process improvements based on operational knowledgeRequired Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent with demonstrated ability to work 12-hour shifts including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and during site closures (essential personnel designation)Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) with strong data entry skills and ability to navigate multiple software applications simultaneouslyExcellent interpersonal and customer service skills with proven ability to remain calm under pressure, communicate clearly in writing and verbally, and function effectively in dynamic, high-stress environmentsStrong organizational and analytical abilities with exceptional attention to detail and capacity to multi-task while maintaining accuracyWillingness and ability to sit for extended periods, work both independently and collaboratively in team settings, and fulfill mandatory overtime requirements to cover call-outs and PTOCompletion and maintenance of Public Safety Telecommunicator I certification and Emergency Medical Dispatch certification (or commitment to obtain upon hire)Preferred Qualifications:Associate's degree in criminal justice, emergency management, or related fieldTwo or more years of experience in security operations centers, law enforcement, emergency medical services, fire services, or related public safety disciplinesTechnical knowledge of C-Cure 9000 Access Control System, Milestone video surveillance systems, and CISCO phone systemsExperience with threat assessment platforms, emergency mass notification systems, and fire system monitoring/impairment proceduresCurrent CPR certification and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) credentialsFamiliarity with Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and incident reporting protocolsLocation: OnsiteWork Shift:Pittman Schedule: Most employees work a two-week rotating 2-2-3 schedule (Week 1: 4 days / Week 2: 3 days, alternating)40-Hour Week Options: 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts available based on staffing needsShift Differential: 8% and 10% differential pay for applicable shiftsScheduling determined by GROC Manager to meet operational requirements
