The Estimator will perform a variety of professional estimating duties related to developing estimates and procuring work for heavy civil construction projects. Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates, preparing construction budgets from cost estimates, and handling contract administrative paperwork are some of the responsibilities in this role.The Estimator will perform a variety of professional estimating duties related to developing estimates and procuring work for heavy civil construction projects. Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates, preparing construction budgets from cost estimates, and handling contract administrative paperwork are some of the responsibilities in this role.ResponsibilitiesEstimate preparation and bid submissionContract risk analysisBusiness partner relationshipsBudget preparation and buyoutQuantity take-offsPreparing estimates up to $200,000,000Schedule and manager resources required for estimating and bidding processReview cost estimates of others to assure compliance with plans, specifications and jobsite conditions.Security of shop drawings and building materials samplesCost accounting for materials owner billingsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related degree1-5 years' experience of estimating on Heavy Civil Construction projectsKnowledge of HeavyBid by HCSS or other Estimating softwareStrong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholdersExcellent organizational and time-management skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks effectivelyRequirements:Experience in large-scale heavy civil construction projectsMust have experience estimating projects in the heavy civil industry and/or TxDOT or DOT from another stateApplicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
