Senior Director of Quality Improvement

We actively seek to employ a diverse workforce representative of the communities we serve.Position: Senior Director of Quality ImprovementSalary: $120,000 to $130,000 per year (Exempt position)Location: Ronkonkoma and Riverhead, NYHours: Full-time, 37.50 hours/week; with evening and weekend availability as needed.Position Summary:The Senior Director of Quality Improvement is responsible for the oversight and advancement of innovation and quality improvement, playing a critical role in driving program development, continuous improvement across the Association for Mental Health and Wellness (MHAW) current and future programs. This senior leadership role requires extensive clinical experience, a strong background in quality improvement, and a deep commitment to Person-Centered Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Recovery principles as integrated into clinical service delivery.The Senior Director will lead strategic and operational initiatives to enhance clinical quality, outcomes, and service delivery. This role requires strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to translate strategy into effective day-to-day clinical operations.Key areas of focus include best practices, clinical outcomes, service quality, regulatory compliance, and supporting program growth and sustainability. The Senior Director works closely with executive leadership, including the CEO, and collaborates with Program Supervisors, Directors, clinicians, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, and fiscal/billing staff to ensure resources are effectively aligned to meet client needs.This role will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive continuous quality improvement plan to support program success, staff development, and high-quality service delivery. The Senior Director will also play a key role in strategic planning, quality assurance, and the ongoing enhancement of clinical services to meet evolving community needs while upholding organizational values.Key Responsibilities and Tasks:Monitor and respond to cross-program performance metrics, including census, service delivery, regulatory compliance, and revenueDevelop and submit monthly and quarterly outcomes reportsLead development and coordination of staff training initiatives related to innovation and improvementsSupport the development and refinement of clinical and programmatic service workflows and processesOversee Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Improvement (QI) activities across programsLead implementation and ongoing evaluation of the organization's Quality Improvement ProgramEnsure accurate documentation and reporting of QI initiatives and outcomesPlan, coordinate, and evaluate QI training sessions, including curriculum development and facilitationProvide expertise and guidance on QI frameworks (e.g., PDSA, Stages of Change) and ensure staff competencyAnalyze training effectiveness and continuously improve learning strategiesOversee incident management processes, including reporting, investigation, resolution, and trend analysisProvide recommendations for corrective actions and system improvements based on incident dataEnsure compliance with agency policies, regulatory requirements, and funding guidelinesConduct case record reviews and audits to ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory standardsAnalyze qualitative and quantitative data tomonitorprogram performance and inform decision-makingEnsure compliance with all confidentiality, privacy, and data security requirementsSupervision:Lead implementation of system improvements based on QI findingsApply leadership, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and team-building skills to foster a high-performing work environmentQualifications:Master'sdegree froman accredited programin a relevant field (social science,healthcareor business administration)Minimum of10 years leading QA/QI in behavioral health or related service areas10 years+ experience with monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on performance indicators and corrective actionStrong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to mentor and supervise cliniciansStrong technical analytical skills and experience in data analysis, validation, and compliance monitoring is highly preferredKnowledge of psychiatric rehabilitation, person-centered care, and recovery-oriented practicesFamiliarity with OMH and OASAS systems and regulationsProficiencywith Electronic Health Records (EHR)Excellent organizational, time management, and technology skillsAbility to work both collaboratively with multiple program offices and stakeholders and independently, managing multiple projects at a timeStrong understanding of corporate compliance and regulatory standardsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaborativelyValid New York State Driver's License and ability to meet agency driver requirementsAll full-time employees are eligible for our competitive benefits package including:Medical, Dental and Vision CoveragePaid Sick TimePaid Vacation TimePaid Personal TimePaid Floating HolidaysMileage Reimbursement403b Retirement Plan
