Ymca of Central Ohio Lifeguard Hourly Rate: $15 (Seasonal: May-August) $14 (September-April) Flexible hours available No experience required Benefits: FREE YMCA Family Membership Paid lifeguard training Discounted programming Career growth opportunities Work with diverse teams Flexible hours Impact the community Save lives Gain leadership experience Develop lifelong safety and leadership skills Duties include: Maintains safety and security of the pool and its patrons at all times Rules are explained and enforced in a courteous, professional, and firm manner Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately Maintain effective, positive relationships with members, participants and other staff Performs chemical testing, as required Participates in emergency drills and in service to the level in which staff have been trained Qualifications/Requirements: Must be 15 years of age or older Ability to maintain American Red Cross Lifeguard certification Ability to work with a diverse population including children Comfort in and around water Must pass a background check (18 years of age or older) Must pass a pre employment skill check 300 Yard Swim 2 minute water tread Timed submerged brick retrieval Maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
