Manufacturing Engineer Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer Reports To: Technical Director Position Type: Salary Full Time Hours per week: 40+ Work Schedule: Monday-Friday with every other Friday off Combination of office, manufacturing floor, and equipment commissioning environments May require occasional travel or off-shift support during equipment startup Department: Engineering Orientation Period: 90 Days Position Summary: The Manufacturing and Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and control systems to improve quality, cost, delivery, morale, and/or safety. This role bridges manufacturing operations with automation and control technologies, supporting production equipment, process control, and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications: Design and develop improvements to processes, tooling, and control systems Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and industrial networks Lead projects, including equipment installation, commissioning, and validation Analyze production data to improve process capability, cycle time, yield, and uptime Develop and maintain documentation, wiring diagrams, and work instructions Cross functional collaboration in order to resolve issues Implement/Lead continuous improvement initiatives Comply with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies Provide technical support for manufacturing equipment and control systems Support root cause analysis and corrective action for equipment or process failures Education: BS in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology and 3-5 years of related engineering experience or significant relative experience. Key Responsibilities: Experience with PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent) Knowledge of industrial automation, control systems, and manufacturing processes Familiarity with sensors, actuators, drives, and industrial communication protocols Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Hands-on troubleshooting and technical aptitude Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Project management and documentation skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Continuous improvement mindset Skills and Attributes: Experience in automotive and/or aerospace manufacturing environments Knowledge of robotics, vision systems, and motion control Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies Work Environment: Operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine/printer Constant need for the accurate exchange of information through the phone, computer, and in-person Must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 50% of day Capable of moving safely about the building to conduct business What We Offer: Join a supportive, dynamic workplace with global exposure and a strong commitment to your growth.
