Teacher's Assistant PositionAd Prima Charter School is a Blue Ribbon K-8 school in Philadelphia. Ad Prima is seeking a full-time Teacher's Assistant. Job responsibilities include the ability to work with students of different ability levels.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Work under the auspices of the lead teacher to execute classroom instruction and school programming.Work with the lead teacher to monitor the class schedule.Assist teachers with lesson preparation by getting materials ready and setting up equipment.Revise lesson material with students individually or in small groups.Ensure the classroom environment is safe and clean.Oversee students during non-classroom times, including in-between classes, during lunch, and on-field excursions.Collaborate with lead teachers to recognize issues students are facing and recommend solutions.Document student progress and communicate with parents to keep them informed.Help lead teachers to create lesson plans.Comply with state, school, and class rules and regulations.Attend all training classes, parent conferences, and faculty meetings.Other Functions:Attend and supervises curriculum-oriented field trips.Attend and participate in parent and staff meetings.Stay informed by reading building and district communications.Respond to requests for information in a timely manner.Job Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Mental Ability:Possess group dynamics and interpersonal skills.Possess classroom developmentally appropriate management skills, which include discipline as well as record keeping.Possess technological and computer skills.Possess problem-solving, imagination, patience, reasoning, creativity, judgment, and analytical abilities.Education, License, Certification, or Formal Training:Possess a minimum of an Associate's Degree.Has necessary Criminal records and Child Abuse Clearances.Physical Demands:Be able to stand, walk, and sit for long periods without fatigue or discomfort.Be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry a distance of 100 feet.Be able to carry up to 15 pounds for a distance of 1,000 feet.
