The firm is focused on aggressive, disciplined growth through a combination of organic initiatives and M&A and is building a best-in-class corporate finance and strategic finance function to support that journey.Role SummaryWe are seeking a top-tier Corporate Development & Finance Associate to work directly with the CFO of a PE-backed company. This is a high-visibility, high-expectation role for someone with investment banking or private equity training who can produce board-quality work at speed.You Will Support Three Core AreasCorporate Development / M&A – transaction analysis, valuation, structuring support, and deal materials.FP&A – budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and KPI analysis.Advisor Pro-Formas & Pitch Materials – building detailed economic models and compelling decks used to bring new Advisors onto the platform.The ideal candidate is exceptional at financial modeling and presentation-building, has flawless written and verbal skills, and is comfortable working independently with limited supervision.Key ResponsibilitiesCorporate Development & M&ABuild and maintain transaction models (3-statement, DCF, accretion/dilution, returns analysis) for potential acquisitions, capital investments, and advisor deals.Analyze target firms’ financials, client bases, and business models to support valuation, structuring, and risk assessment.Support the CFO in deal structuring (earn-outs, seller notes, equity structures, revenue shares, etc.) and transaction execution, from term sheet to definitive legal documentation.Prepare IC-style memos, deal summaries, and supporting exhibits for internal and external stakeholders.Drive proactive sourcing of potential M&A opportunities, while assisting with pipeline tracking, investment banker relationship management, and market mapping.Strategic FinanceCoordinate with accounting team to build and maintain budget and forecast models at company, business-unit, and advisor levels.Support monthly & quarterly reporting, including P&L analysis, variance analysis vs. budget, and performance commentary.Help design and track KPIs and management dashboards across revenue, margins, headcount, and advisor performance.Support scenario analysis and sensitivity analysis for key strategic decisions (e.g., pricing, compensation changes, new investments).Assist in preparing Board and lender reporting – charts, tables, and concise written analysis.Advisor Pro-Formas & Sales EnablementBuild Advisor-level pro-forma models to show economics under RFG’s platform versus their current economics.Translate deal terms (payouts, overrides, financing, equity) into clear, intuitive financial outputs advisors can understand.Create and refine presentation decks (PowerPoint) that combine numbers, narrative, and visuals to tell a compelling story.Customize templates and outputs for different prospect profiles (e.g., solo advisors vs. larger teams).Partner with the CFO and business development team to continuously improve templates, assumptions, and messaging using AI-based automation techniquesRequirementsCandidate ProfileEducationBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field from a leading institution.Additional credentials (e.g., CA, MBA, CFA Level I/II/III) are a strong plus.Experience2–5+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development / corporate finance, or consultingStrong preference for candidates with experience in the wealth management / asset management industriesDemonstrated Experience BuildingDetailed LBO / DCF / M&A / 3-statement modelsManagement or IC-style presentations for senior stakeholdersTechnical SkillsOutstanding Excel skills, including:Fully-linked 3-statement modelsSensitivity / scenario analysisDebt schedules, waterfalls, and returns analysisPowerPoint “power user” – able to create clean, executive-ready decks with strong structure and visuals.Experience with leveraging AI (including Claude) to build financial models, design processes, and Strong understanding of corporate finance, valuation, M&A structures, and financial statements.Comfort working with large data sets; experience in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is a plus but not required.Communication & Personal AttributesExceptional written and verbal skills – able to write clear memos, crisp email updates, and concise commentary for senior executives.Confident, professional communicator on Zoom/Teams with internal and external stakeholders.High ownership mentality – treats the firm’s resources and investments with individual responsibility and accountability for outcomes Speed + quality: able to turn around complex work products quickly without sacrificing accuracy.Highly organized, reliable, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.Deeply curious—eager to learn about new concepts and technologies (including AI) that can enhance our corporate development and finance processesComfortable with ambiguity and evolving priorities in a fast-paced, PE-backed environment.
