Our commitment has been recognized by Jacksonville Business Journal and Will Reed as a noted Best Places to Work.About The RoleUrban SDK is hiring a Sales Engineer to support our Revenue Team in selling a data-driven SaaS platform to government and public-sector organizations focused on transportation safety and operations.This role is ideal for someone who blends technical SaaS expertise, GIS knowledge, and transportation or traffic domain experience—and who enjoys working directly with customers in a pre-sales, solution-oriented role.ResponsibilitiesSupport Public-Sector SalesPartner closely with Account Executives across the full sales cycle, from discovery through closeServe as the technical expert during sales calls, demos, and procurement conversationsSupport implementation processes with clear, credible technical inputDeliver High-Impact Product DemosLead live product demonstrations tailored to customer-specific geographies, corridors, and use casesShowcase Urban SDK’s platform modules, including speed data, traffic analytics, safety insights, and automated workflows Translate complex data into clear outcomes for transportation engineers, planners, public works teams, law enforcement officials, and city/county leadersApply Transportation & GIS ExpertiseConnect traffic, safety, and planning concepts to real-world platform use casesExplain data sources, methodologies, and validation in a way that builds trust with public agenciesAnswer technical questions related to GIS layers, dashboards, reporting, and analytics workflowsCollaborate InternallyEnsure clean technical handoffs from Sales to ImplementationShare customer feedback with Product and Implementation teamsContribute to demo best practices and sales enablement materialsQualificationsRequired3–7+ years of experience in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Technical Pre-Sales role within a SaaS environmentExperience supporting sales to government, municipal, or public-sector customersWorking knowledge of GIS concepts (spatial data, mapping, visualization)Strong ability to demo software to both technical and non-technical audiencesExcellent communication skills and comfort in customer-facing rolesPreferredBackground in transportation engineering, traffic engineering, civil engineering, or urban/transportation planningExperience with transportation analytics, traffic safety, mobility data, or smart city technologyFamiliarity with Vision Zero, Safe Streets for All, traffic calming, or related initiativesExposure to public-sector procurement processes
