Transfer & Curriculum SpecialistThe Transcript Evaluator/Advising Module Specialist manages the student transcript evaluation process, provides advising and registration support for transfer students, and maintains the advising and curriculum tools in the student information system.Candidates will be invited to demonstrate a willingness to support the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.Benefits Include: Retirement benefits with an 8% matchMedical, Dental and Vision insuranceFree or discounted tuition for employees and dependentsDiscounted Meal PlanDiscounted membership at the campus Wellness CenterEssential Roles and Responsibilities Include: Transfer student support: Performs accurate academic transcript evaluations, completing both unofficial and official transcript evaluations; develops prospective degree plans for incoming transfer students; assists with transfer student advising and registration; and maintains database records of comparable course equivalenciesCurriculum support: Coordinates with senior registrar staff, faculty, and university departments regarding degree requirements, program adjustments, articulation and transfer credit policy, and catalog enforcement. Creates, edits, and maintains Academic Plans/program curricula in the Jenzabar One advising module; updates student degree progress/requirements based on approved transfer credit waivers and substitutions; articulates transfer work related to academic programs and catalog requirementsCreates and maintains a procedure manual for processing degree plansAssists with the development and delivery of training programs for advisorsPerforms enrollment verifications and transfer credit eligibility reviews for NCAA student athletesAssists with the maintenance of student records, registration for courses, and other essential tasks, following quality control standardsAssists with graduation processing and the commencement ceremonyAddresses student complaints and provides solutionsPerforms other duties as assignedDesired Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Experience Include: Required: Bachelor's degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0Required: A minimum of 1 year of related work experience or equivalent education or trainingPreferred: Previous experience evaluating transcripts and/or competency exams for course equivalencies and/or higher education work experienceUpholds and supports the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of MarySupports the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae , the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities.Builds a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the Registrar's Office and throughout the university, in accord with Saint Benedict's admonition that all be received as Christ.Knowledge and Skills Required: Familiarity with educational technology: working knowledge of Jenzabar One or another SIS; classroom scheduling applications such as AdAstra, Modern Campus Schedule, or Series25; SharePoint; PowerFaids; Slate or another student CRM; and/or Canvas or another learning management system preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office 365 software applicationsAbility to perform accurate and timely data entryCritical thinking and problem-solving skillsAttentiveness to detailAbility to manage multiple projects with minimal supervisionAbility to research, compile, and summarize a variety of informationStrong interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skillsAbility to interpret and apply laws, rules, guidelines, and regulations related to assigned activities and to maintain compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, including FERPAAbout the University of MaryWe thank you for your interest in the University of Mary.
