Job Title: Estimator II | Req ID: 16193 | HR Contact: Fredric Victor THOMPSON| Location: Canon City Agg/Asp COABOUT THE ROLEThe Senior Estimator prepares cost estimates for product manufacturing, construction projects, or services to aidmanagement in bidding on or determining price of product or service. May specialize according to particular serviceperformed or type of product manufactured.WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISHAnalyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Assess costeffectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulateestimates and resolve issues.Confer with engineers, architects, mgmt, contractors and subcontractors on changesand adjustments to cost estimates.Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning,organizing, and scheduling work. Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.Review material and labor requirements, to decide whether it is more cost effective to produce or purchasecomponents.Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals forthe duration of the project.Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures. Establish and maintain tendering process, andconduct negotiations. Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or toeffect cost reduction.Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations orconclusions.Acts as a mentor to Estimator's and Estimating Specialists, assisting them with questions regarding jobspecifications and the bidding processDemonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmentalpolicies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOREducation: Bachelor's Degree or 5-7 years of experience in a Construction Management roleField of Study Preferred: Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project ManagementRequired Work Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in Heavy Highway Construction or CivilConstruction EstimatingTravel Requirements: Required to travel to pre-bid meetings and construction sitesAdditional Requirements:Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
