This includes all of the associated sub-processes listed below.Job DutiesPlan, organize and monitor the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or production shopsEnsure a smooth and consistent operation so material and supplies are stored, slotted, and distributed in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external stakeholder requirementsMaintain a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the warehouse and receiving mission in an effective and efficient mannerInterview and recommend applicants for hire as warehouse and receiving associatesPlan and coordinate work, training and motivates, monitors, and evaluates performance of warehouse and receiving associatesEnsure associate’s ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurationsCoach, record, and discipline as necessary in tandem with the employee handbookDevelop crew leaders to effectively oversee the daily routines of their assigned crew membersMaintain an equipment structure and level to accomplish the warehouse and receiving mission in a safe, effective mannerProvides appropriate equipment and racking to ensure the safe transport and storage of all materialsResearch material handling equipment to ensure procurement of the most suitable equipment in terms of performance, safety, reliability, and costMonitor the unloading of all materials into the receiving departmentEnsures materials are staged for counting and inspectionConfirm receiving reports accurately report material receivedResolve discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.Monitor the flow of paperwork from receiving to inventory control for timely data entryOversee the movement of material from receiving to the warehouse in an efficient, effective, and safe mannerOversee the supplying of materials to fabrication and stages material for assembly and sub-assemblyEnsure materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety proceduresOversee the rotation of inventories within the warehouseMonitor and measure receiving and warehouse performance for accuracy of locator, receiving reporting, movement and storage of material, and transfers to service partsPerform ad hoc duties / special requests as assignedContinually reorganize products to optimize picking efficiency and minimize errorsCompletion of all assigned NEFCO trainingsMonitor and enforce all NEFCO training initiatives for associates under your supervision.Assist in implementation of new training and enhance existing training processes for associates under your supervision.This position manages all employees of the receiving department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that departmentReview direct reports’ timecards, ensuring employees’ time is accurately recorded and complete.Approve employee timecards at the end of each period, prior to supervisor deadline.Work with employees to resolve errors (missing punches, adjustments, etc.).Review and approve PTO requests.Monday – Friday (Occasional Saturday)Typically, 40-50 hoursRequirementsQualifications:Must have a track record of being a results-oriented person who has worked in industrial warehousing/distribution operations for 5+ yearsMust be effective communicator up, down and across the organizationHigh school diploma (or equivalent); college degree preferredAbility to use NEFCO’s ERP software systemAbility to use warehouse layouts for planning purposesBasic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, or Outlook a plusBasic computer skillsMust have a positive, hard-working attitudeAbility to establish priorities, work independently and little supervisionAbility to stand on concrete floor for long periods of timeMust be able to work in various climate conditions such as cold, heat, humidity for a long period of timeAbility to crouch, stoop, kneel, crawl and twist for liftingAbility to safely lift as much 50 lbs.Ability to review and interpret computer images and written documentsAnalytical ability including basic math skillsAbility to operate warehouse equipment (including forklifts) and be recertifiedMust be detail-oriented with aptitude for multi-tasking and adapting to a fast-paced environment with ever changing prioritiesMust have effective interpersonal skills with ability to direct, coach, support, and delegate to associates
